People Who Never Made It

Good morning, that wonderful way.

Looking out over that same place I look at every morning, as of late, while I write this to you.

My love.

I mean Life herself.

I mean what's missed being missed.

Maybes and what may be.

We feel what ought to be, then we go sad.

We let expectation get in the way of the moment.

Though, what if we call it Hope?

What if we call it our aim and not some up high in the sky illusion we saturate ourselves with to make ourselves feel better to get through a day doing what we most want not to do?

No.

Life has to be worth something.

Has to matter.

What's around us rings true to what we are or we're miserable.

We're born into circumstances.

We grow.

We become adults when our circumstances no longer define us, we define our circumstances.

Adulthood begins when we decide our circumstances are defined by our actions and not those of others.

When we stop blaming the circumstances in our life and start consciously making them, we become adults.

There are an unfortunate amount of elderly people who never made it to adulthood.
