A New Way to Grow

Snow again, a soft feathery fall, an easy brush of the shovel.

A falcon dove by the window yesterday, a hundred plus mile an hour dive, scooped up a rabbit and proceeded to eat it on the other side of the fence.

The bird set up a nest with its mate high up a fir tree in the neighbor's yard a month ago.

Abe, of course, barks at them daily.

He chases a rabbit, or many, away daily, too.

The peregrine worked on his dinner. Abe stood at the fence and maybe barked.

What to do?

Thank the bird for clearing the nuisance? Wonder how to grow wings to do the same?

A few staccato barks is all he managed while he watched.

Unexpected help from unexpected places.

Plant some new idea seeds.

Maybe the reason so many New Year's Resolutions don't come true is we plant the seeds too early.

Seems just before Winter's end and just after the Groundhog does his thing, is a better time to set a new way to grow.
