Daydreams on Ice

Good morning, that wonderful way.
How'd yesterday go?
Good? Fair? Out there?
Twilight Zone episode?
Implode?
Nonsense at its best?
Well, whichever, welcome back.
Winter's moving in. Cool air goes crisp and cold. Nature slows to prepare for Spring.
Heavy windy leaves full of Fall's fallen leaves leave new patterns in branches for light to shine through.
New shadows on lawns and roads.
Did you notice?
Good thing I'm around, then.
Abe's got a bowtie, it's his superhero costume.
Dapper Abe and +he Ghos+, our new Manga series.
Certain to be a hit.
It's flannel, of course. Gotta stay with the theme.
How's your theme? Living your dream?
You are; you know.
That's how life works. We live the dream of ourselves.
Deep thoughts give way to the cascading shadows of Winter.
Daydreams on Ice.
Perhaps more words for the site later...
Later.
It's the words. They keep me from spectacle.
"Why not flash out for a publisher? An agent?"
The words speak for themselves. I make them easy to find, easier to read, easy to respond to.
That old saying:
"It's not about the money."
Shows up.
And that's true, to a point.
It's about worth, it's about value.
Perhaps I'm old-fashioned, but a thank you is worth more than a dollar to me.
But a ghost has to eat.
I could pull a Thoreau and go off to the woods deliberately.
What would be the protest, though?
Ghost, dragon, poet... just a guy sharing his words.
My life was an exercise in awful. Illness after illness kept me away.
Ever the optimist, I found a positive there.
Because I was kept from so much, I was able to find what is truly important about being alive.
So, when I went into full remission, I knew exactly what to do.
Hello. O/ Here I am doing it.
It's not a hermit's life I lead. It's a choice.
Though my love of letters always came first, I was quite an extrovert in my youth.
An actor with a big future ahead of me, before the first round of illness set in.
Lead singer in a rock band fits my personality better than a sheltered poet.
Poets are never withdrawn. Our work requires silence.
I know my work. You have to have a reason to live to survive all I've been through.
So I wake up and go about the only day I call worth living. Words and doing words. Dreams and doing dreams.
I know their value. I hope they bring you peace. If you would like to say thank you, please go ahead.
"It's not about the money."
No, it's about what the money is supposed to be about.
A thank you for your service.
Take care, buy a friend a cup of coffee, and have your better day.
