We would not recognize each other; words would go colorless.
It becomes easier not to listen to each other. All words fast
become nothing more than gestures. We come to believe if the
words don't elicit a sharp shock response from us they are only
hot air.
In order to have it understood that we're not speaking for the
sake of shock, but for the actual meaning of the word, we begin to
specify when we mean what we say.
Slow down.
Mean what you say.
Say what you mean.
