Good morning that wonderful way.

Technically it's night. Only just 2 AM.

Go back to sleep, Wynn.

Sometimes it's best to stay awake.

So, it's actually sometime o'clock.

Consequently, the same time you're reading this.

Now we have something else in common.

So:
For us,
Another something
Is another something else,
For us.

Wonder how many something else's we have in common.

Sometime is the best time to count all the something else's we have in common.

Anytime rarely shows.

But maybe this time he'll come to the party.

Soon is just a ball of frustration.

Then is now for later; which won't do.

Later and Then always come together, or not at all.

How many hours before sunrise is too early to call it morning?

Interesting question for Afternoon.

Perhaps Afternoon can pencil you in, he's always so busy.

Morning and Evening are always pleasant. They'd make a great couple if we could ever get them together.

Night is a dreamy artist, affable enough, charming too, just keeps to himself. He's on the moon's clock.

The sun's too judgmental-look-over-your-shoulder-y for anyone to get anything decent made.

Prudence never wrote a sentence, or painted any splash of color, that wasn't already done better.

When I'm dead I'll miss writing and thoughts of you.

And the times my dog, from a complete standstill, just off the couch from a nap, darts to his toy in the yard, picks it up with his teeth, tosses it in the air, catches it, and runs around in racetrack circles, with no time for pitstops.

Because: Why, in the name of Science, does he do that?

There's one definite distinction worth mentioning about the difference between cats and dogs.

When a cat plays it looks like hunting practice .

When a dog plays it looks like...Look out the party's here!

Where is hope so early in the morning?

Same place she always is, The Necessary Place. The waiting room where dreams sit until their name is called to come in for their appointment with Dr. True.

Later that morning...

Good morning that wonderful way, again.

Was up around 2 AM. That writing will make it to this post.

Habit has me back. Sun's up. Funs up. Alleyoop. What's the scoop?

You know it's early when the dog rolls his eyes at you and goes back to sleep.

Sometimes the writing wakes you up. Something needs to be said. And it needs to be said at that hour.

Like an actor has to wait for the stage to be set up for the next scene before delivering their lines, sometimes the clock and the weather have to be just right to get the right lines out.

Stars have to align sometimes to make the right light to see the thing right.

It doesn't start on fire. A poet's hair might be tussled, but that's only an indication we'd rather spend our time working than combing it.

Should we be out at a formal event, I dare you to find one strand out of place, though. We're all about putting things in order. Building castles out of sand and finding an ingenious way to make them last.

We're not quiet, or shy either. Dreams are our office space, and dreams go better in solitude.

If you love your work then you're only ever doing two things: Working or not working.

An artist's life requires quiet and so my life looks like a hermits, but it's choice of vocation and not social preference that keeps me in as silent as I can get them spaces.

It helps not to have money as a motivator. Though, in most regards, we've made it obligatory. So, to secure those quiet spaces, and something to eat, requires some financial consideration.

More cash doesn't make a room more silent. It does help to keep the monsters that want to eat your time away. Or bring more, depending on how much pride you put in overstocking it.

Bread and water are never enough. We need dreams and doing dreams and sharing dreams and sharing doing dreams, to make a life full.

These morning pages feel like guru stuff at times. But, I know you'd have similar thoughts if you'd sit quiet and alone for some time.

There's no preaching here other than your life and thoughts and dreams matter and should you want to raise the quality of your life you might try sitting still and getting to know yourself and the world without everyone else's ideas and needs setting your schedule.

Common sense.

I wrote (quite poetically, too, mind you) before that most people have no definition for happiness, but want it so badly. They might already be happy, how would they know?

In like fashion, you may feel like something is missing, like you're just going through the motions living everyone else's requirements for you, you never get any time to yourself.

Image courtesy of Ms. Copilot and +he Ghos+ (2024)

Well, if you never sit still to get to know yourself how do you know? You could be living your best life, but without some idea what it means to be you, you'll never know.

You'll never know you, and definitely never know what you look and feel like happy.

Take care and have your better day.
