One advantage to typing is you can do it in the dark.

Lights out and it's still on.

There's less distraction.

It's said all the best things, everything actually, is created in the dark.

There's no darker place than a dream.

No lighter place either.

If you dream it so.

Onto practical things.

Another Monday?

Your Monday looks different to everyone else's.

It's your story morning glory.

Own it.

Abe's snoring.

Exit loveseat to the dog bed for a good snoring repose.

The heater coils that form the borders of the wall click and shake now and then. Cold the past few days.

Cold for someone from New England is COLD.

Shouty caps COLD.

The weather is a practical thing to speak of we all have in common. It's the stage we step into when we open the door to step outside.

These morning thoughts, I hope they're of some use to you.

Big holiday week. Don't let self-imposed obligations spoil it for you. Remember what it means to you.

Practically it means the days are getting longer and Spring is on its way, and Life hasn't given up on us.

What Life not giving up on us translates to is different in different stories. One particular story makes this Holiday's date and time.

Remember Life goes on. If you're glad that it does, give a gift to those you're happy to share it with to thank them and remind them their life gets to go on to.

In Winter everything dies so it can live again.

Maybe.

Towards the end of our year the sunlight starts lasting longer, a necessity for Spring to do Her thing.

We recognize this promise of rebirth with the end of the year celebrations.

Every old story tells it differently, but every story tells it.

All of Life is sacrificed in Winter so we can have Life again in Spring.

Science blames it on the Spin of a Sphere, but never tells us why.

Our Holiday does.
