Stormy Windowed
2024.10.16
Good morning that wonderful way.
It was a dark and stormy night.
No it wasn't.
It was actually temperate with a cliched New England Autumn chill.
It was a cliched Autumn chilled night.
How's your weather?
Moderate blue skies?
Another hurricane?
Some wildfires?
A tornado or two?
Floods?
Blizzard?
Heatwave?
Apocalyptic scratch your head maybes with a chance of redemption?
Are we ready to start cleaning up our house?
I often write our biggest threat to National Security is Mother Nature. The weather is often out of character as of late.
Out of character disastrous is about to be a forecast with its own icon on the Weather Channel.
Let's not wait until it gets in the way of 9 to 5 schedules to do something about it.
Rebuilding our ways to heal the damage our ancestors made is actually a great boost for the economy. Lots of jobs created. If we want to be politically pragmatic about it.
Our military ought to get on securing our ocean shores. Corps' of engineers ought to join the Coast Guard in droves.
Ask any Scientist worth the title and they'll agree.
Soon we'll be moving the Department of Agriculture into the Pentagon.
Not a joke.
An easy reality if we don't start now.
Make some room for the EPA in the five sided polygon while we're at it.
Simple basic structures. A whole redesign on how we power our homes.
An economic inconvenience, but only if we lack insight.
Jobs won't be lost, they'll be gained in new buildings with a new mission to help better the landscape, better our lives.
We're often stubborn to change. We're often a band of idiots with foresight.
There's plenty of money to be made doing the right thing. If that's a fear, for the complacently wealthy, throw it out the window into the wildfire hurricanes.
Basic high school Science.
We know the time is here to act, we know there's a malaise in the way we spend our days, it's an inspiring call to action that helps build communities around common goals.
We can power whole cities on solar, wind, on water. Some new buildings with a new acceptance of basic high school Science and increased severe weather forecasts for motivation.
Serious entry this morning. Serious tone.
How's it with you? How'd you sleep?
Wouldn't it be nice every night to take with you the knowledge you helped make the world a better place and got a paycheck for it?
It's a necessity that you do.
Your great grandkids will be spending much of their days dodging hurricanes if we don't.
Don't let the prospect of joy get in your way, though.
Actually, please do.
It's easy exciting work if we stick together with a common purpose.
Time to get serious about Nature or your life isn't going to matter as much as the 120mph winds outside.
Not Doomsday propaganda, more a look out your more often severe weather stormy windowed reality.
We have the technology, we have the responsibility, let's get together and clean our house and help generations to come keep their feet on the ground, salt out of their water, smoke from their skies.
Take care, watch the forecast and the future, and have a better day.
