The Kindness of The Moon

2024.09.16

Good morning, that wonderful way.

Full moon tomorrow. It told me last night.

The unforgettable moon always there, always gone to soon.

Life doesn't exist without it. Did you know that?

He's responsible for the tides, stirs the waters to make things move.

That little rock in the sky. A flashlight for the night.

Wonder if some flower somewhere feeds off his light best?

Did you know everything eats photosynthesis? We're all made of light.

This is practical as well as poetical.

We only point out that plants do because they stay still long enough for us to measure it.

The slow growth of trees.

If it weren't for neighbors I'd let Abe bark all day.

But if it weren't for neighbors Abe would barely bark.

It's much more productive to sneak up on a squirrel to scare it away than it is the Amazon delivery truck.

I'd thank him for the heads up if it weren't for the neighbors, too. Sometimes phone alerts that the package arrived don't go through.

Kindness between different species doesn't always translate.

True in our own species, too.

Kindness is never a sign of weakness. It's strength. Recognition another's life matters, that life itself matters. It's wisdom. Self-serving wisdom.

We get what we give and we are only as good as the environment we find ourselves in.

Best to take care of your surroundings while you take care of yourself, if you want to live your best life.

It's impossible to do otherwise.

But, I was talking about photosynthesis as a product in all things before the Amazon delivery guy showed up and Abe interrupted and I went outside to quiet him.

The neighbor's soundful sleep over the writing. Doesn't seem like a positive choice. But, as I just explained why it is, I'll move on.

There's within certain seeds planted strong flowers for the moon.

A morning line on moon flowers for use for future prose.

It wasn't quite ready to bloom. I'll plant the seed and greet it some day when it's had enough moonlight, and kindness from the World.
