I’m starting to realize my shoulders have been tense.
I could use a massage.
So, here's a very good massage, from a very good Doctor Ma-Seuss...

Dr. Ma Seuss and Ms. Jane out on the dance floor again.

Jane says to the good Doctor:

"Where might I find a proctor, to do my work tonight?

The Doctor replied with a gleam in his eye:
"Who would work when this feels so right?"

“But work is a thing, a real, real thing,” said Jane.
“But too much of it will make you insane.”

Then said Doctor Ma Seuss:

“Yes. You’ll want to jump off all things, you’ll strap up a noose.
You’ll become quite dull, you’ll become quite obtuse.

Jane then replied, as she was known quite to do:
“I guess I’m left with no choice but to dance here with you.”

“Oh, you have choice my dear you always have that,
But I’d like to think dancing is where it is at.”

a dragon in glasses, wearing a lab coat, and a young woman dancing alone in a starry sky in the style of anime with a shopping mall in the background

"We can step right and left
We can dance to and fro,
We can go wherever our dreams say to go."

“But good Doctor,” Jane stated now seeming elated:
“I do like to dance with you here as you say,
But I also enjoy work, and a long hard workday.
All work and all play well they each make me tired.
A little of each and I’m so ever inspired.”

And Seuss with his smile did wonder awhile.

Then, yes then, he knew what he knew.
He knew what he knew and what he must do.

He took Jane’s hand in his and led her this way,
The way that you dance, the way that you sway.

a dragon in glasses, wearing a lab coat, and a young woman dancing alone in a starry sky in the style of anime with a skyscraper in the background and the woman's hair flowing upward as if defying gravity in a hall with a mysterious door at the end of the hallway

He danced her through the hall.

a dragon in glasses, wearing a lab coat, and a young woman dancing alone in a starry sky in the style of anime with a doorway in the background and brown hair with a mysterious pendant around her neck

He danced her out the door.

a dragon in glasses, wearing a lab coat, and a young woman dancing alone in a starry sky in the style of anime with a street in the background

He danced her down the street

a dragon in glasses, wearing a lab coat, and a young woman dancing alone in a starry sky in the style of anime with a skyscraper in the background and the woman's hair flowing upward as if defying gravity in a hall

And just past the mall.

a dragon in glasses, wearing a lab coat, and a young woman dancing alone in a starry sky in the style of anime with a valley in the background

He took her up hills and down valleys so deep.

He took her over mountains the steepest of steep.

They danced past bakeries.

They danced past it all!

Then the Doctor stopped at a door in the wall.

And Jane gasped hypnotized
Her eyes flashed wide open
She was quite surprised.

The building before her was her workhouse it’s true,
“Just why, good Doctor,” Jane begged to know why.
“Did you just do what you do?”

“Why, you ask why?!
I don’t want to stop dancing no, no not ever, never,
And when you said you liked work well, I got very clever."

"If I could but understand the way that you feel,
I could see your love of work and I could help you heal.”

“But Doctor, don’t you get it, don’t you see your own truth?"

"For me there is my work and there is my play.
But you found a way to do something that brings others dismay."

"Your dance is your work, and your work is your dance
Not many an anyone would take that big chance."

"You’ve found your one passion and made it your own.
You could never be held down with the seeds that you’ve sown."

"Your dreams are your dance, your dance is your dream,
Your dreams are your work, that’s the best that it seems."

"One can have work and one can have dreams
But a few very lucky ones have both be the same."

"My dear Jane, said the Doctor now pleasantly taken:
No man, or woman or child has ever been so mistaken."

"That luck should have anything to do with my state,
Is to put everything on the shoulders of fate."

"But Fate is no guard at this door don’t you see?
For Fate and I know each other quite well,
For Fate, my dear, Fate, Fate himself, is me."

Then Good Doctor Fate Ma-Suess did go on so:

“I’ll dance with you, sing with you
Go where you go."

"I’ll dance you to work, I’ll sing you to sleep,
I’ll show you your dreams, I’ll give you things cheap."

"I’ll make you just how you want to be,
And that is all that I’ll ever be."

"I am what you make me, it’s true you can choose,
Know this, dear Jane, and you never can lose.”

Then Good Doctor Fate Ma-Suess
Started a lesson which should be put to good use.

You’ll always win if you know this one thing:

"You should dance, you should laugh,
But only if it is Your Thing."

"Never be, do or say what another wants done,
Your faith keeps you strong as you reach for the sun."

"Fate is not a prison, not a ball, not some chains,
I’m here for your choosing, in fact I am choice."

"They say my opposite is freewill and they use a strong voice.
But they are wrong my real face, yes, my real face is choice."

"So, dance your own dance, say your own grace,
And never, ever, fight your own face."

"Choose your own choice and dance in your shoes,
Choose to dance in the shoes that you choose."

"Choose my dear Jane, choose and choose and choose."

Then Doctor Fate Ma-Suess pointed at the workhouse door so Jane would see:

“Go in the door or stay outside but dance free.
The point my dear dear Jane is as it’s always been:
If you choose what you choose you will always win."

It was then that Fate danced far into the sky,
Yes, Fate, Fate himself, left Jane at the door,
Left Jane, Jane herself asking ‘Why?’

Jane learned the lesson the Doctor did say,
But Jane learned another lesson that day.

“Why dance me so far to this door just to tell me his name?
He could have done that while dancing, it would’ve sounded the same."

Then Jane knew.

"The Doctor taught me a lesson far greater than what saying can do.
Yes, Good Doctor Fate Ma-Suess showed me what dreaming can do."

"And if dreaming can dance and dreaming can sing,
Then why would anyone choose any other thing?"

It was then that Jane smiled.

Should she go in the door, back to the work there inside?
Should she go up dancing in the blue sky so wide?

She stood there puzzled, her questions would not stop,
Then she started to laugh, then she started to pop.

It did not matter if she stayed out or went in,
What mattered was the voice that came great from within.

That voice that allowed the choice.

So, which did Jane choose Inside or Out?

She chose to live a life different, to take a new chance,
From now on her answer to every choice was to:

Dance. Dance. Dance.
