Touchable, the Dragon

We're on a nice walk in the city.

Suddenly, a lizard larger than a passenger plane flies by shooting fire from its mouth.

"Dragon!" you yell. And being a nice friend grab my hand and we duck down an alley, then run to the nearest place of shelter.

It's a decent start to a story. But it's already over.

"What's up with all the dragon pics, Wynn?"

The first answer is obvious, "They're dragons. Everyone loves a good dragon pic."

The second is the point our nice walk teaches us.

Neither one of us has ever seen a dragon in real life.

Let's call him, 'Touchable, the Dragon.'

But we see good ole Touchable and instantly know that fireball shooting jetliner dinosaur-like not a bird in the sky is a Dragon.

"Dragons aren't real, Wynn. They're a myth."

"How come, my on-a-nice-walk good friend, did you and I both know one when we saw one?"

"Pictures, and stories, and cartoons."

"Yes. Yes. And Yes."

Dragons have a place in reality, so they are real. Our myths have a place in reality. They describe shared experiences.

We share the experience of what a dragon is, therefore, it is a part of life we share, part of our shared existence. Otherwise known as: Reality.

Spirit stuff, the stuff of dreams. Just because you can't touch it doesn't mean it's not real.

Myths have mass because they make mass move.

With or without Touchable the Dragon, dragons exist.

And so does your soul.

And mine.

We'll talk about God some other time.

Thanks for the walk.

Enjoy the Dragons.

Every respectable website ought to have a mascot.
Touchable, it is! Which, being +he Ghos+, is a pun.
And we love those maybe even more than dragons.
But don't tell Touchable, he's kinda touchy.
